The Port of Bar implemented the pilot project within the LASTING project, financed by Interreg IPA CBC Programe Italy – Albania - Montenegro.
As project partner, intends to increase the demand for higher level of security in the port area. Improving the digital information flows and reducing administrative burden is vital to ensure an efficient transport network. Besides the adoption of innovative equipment, the technical coordination and alignment of software, with LASTING project, Port of Bar has managed to reach a major requirement for allowing the necessary informatics communication.

The pilot action financed by LASTING project now allows the port to follow the ISPS code (International Ship and Port Facility Security), and the Port of Bar will improve the efficiency and security of transport services and competitiveness of the port by implementing necessary international standards. Moreover, the pilot action will enable regional coordination and streamlining of passenger flows within the Lower Adriatic area considering the fact that Pot of Bar is the main port in Montenegro and country’s one of the most important intermodal hubs. In addition, the pilot action of the Port of Bar will enable resolving bottlenecks and reducing transit time in the port area, enhancing the security level and the speeding up of passengers' controls by renewing and upgrading the video control systems in the port area.
