The next mid-term knowledge dissemination and development seminar of LASTING project will take place on June 23rd in Durres (Albania) at Amara Hotel & Spa, Shetitorja e Plazhit No.1, starting from 9.30 AM.
The seminar is an important opportunity to present the LASTING mid-term results and to share views and ideas among the project partners and experts, in view of the forthcoming drafting process of the guidelines for an integrated passenger transport strategy in the Lower Adriatic region.
Pirro Vengu, Chief Executive Officer of Durres Port Authority will open the seminar works while Giuseppe Garofalo, Project Manager of ASSET - Puglia Region, will lead the event in cooperation with all project partners: Majvina Maliqati of Durres Port Authority, Rade Stanišić of the Port of Bar, Simona De Santis, Port Network Authority of the Southern Adriatic Coast, Fabrizio Spallone of Sviluppo Itallia Molise - Molise Region.
During the seminar the University of Bari, Ionian Department of Law, Economics and Environment will present the first lessons learned by the Passenger Mobility in the Lower Adriatic 2023 research (PMLA) and a group of experts of Puglia Region, ASSET Strategic Agency, University of Durrës and Cooperation and Development Institute of Tirana will discuss the expected benefits, goals and hurdles to overcome towards a more connected and integrated Lower Adriatic transnational region.
The event can be considered an intermediate step towards the1st Lower Adriatic Transnational Summit to be held in September in Bari, a great occasion to present LASTING guidelines towards a shared passenger transport strategy, which will involve the Ministries of Transport of Albania, Montenegro, Puglia Region and Molise Region, and subsequently extended to the Ministries of Transport of Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria.
